Christollen is a delicious German yeast bread that is comprised of rum soaked raisins, almonds, and candied citrus peel mixed into a sweet dough. A scratch-made roll of marzipan runs through the length of the loaf creating a decadent flavor to savor! After baking the Christmas bread is brushed with a generous amount of butter and then dusted with powdered sugar.

Christstollen was baked to symbolize the birth of Christ. The powdered sugar and dough is said to be the cloth swaddling Jesus, and the fruits and nuts symbolize the gifts brought to Him. ✨
